Draft Prep: Sleeper Alert

Darren Collison:  Dallas Mavericks, PG
The Mavs became pretty desperate at point guard once prized free agent target Deron Williams resigned with the Nets and Jason Kidd departed for the Knicks. The Mavs had to deal for Darren Collison, an extremely capable player to run the point. He is entering a contract year so clearly the motivation will be there for him to perform at a high level.

  • with  career averages of 12.1 points, 5.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds and a steal per game, it would be easy to overlook Collison, however this is the first season, save the few months in New Orleans that he filled in for an injured Chris Paul, that he will really be handed the reigns of the offense. He is currently being drafted in the 9th round, I think he is worth a flier in the 7th or 8th.
